The staff were very friendly and accommodating.
We've stopped by several times and purchased bakery items...such as, muffins, doughnuts, and cookies. The cronuts were delicious.
This morning we had breakfast there.
Belgium waffles, toast, and a large fruit plate. The fruits were fresh and clean. Waffles were delicious. We had a great meal.

To add, I love the interior design of this cafe. Clean and modern (mid-century) design and not pretentious or tacky.
Very well planned out for the purpose of the space.

The brand new remodelled cafe at the renovated palace station.

They really level upped their game on the menu selection, food quality, and also keeping some of the classic grand cafe items with new names.

now moving on to our experience!! woohoo!!!
food were amazeballs!!!! we had the flat breads for the apps and both were amazing... the goat cheese and mushroom as well as the pear and gorgonzola were so delicious i had a mouthgasm! the flavors are just an adventure of 2 distinct contrast, sharp cheese and sweet pear, sharp creamy cheese with crispy savory mushrooms... both were amazing!

    now to the main course!!
I have the miso crab omelette, the wifey had the capresse salad... my omelette was amazing. huge chunks of crab meat, sweet miso glaze, and the latkes (yes they use latkes instead of hash browns) was crispy and fluffy!!
the wifey's salad is not the traditional caprese but it is chopped and mixed with spring salad so it is a pretty big salad... balsamic dressing was on point!

The final take away of this place is that it has great new foods, still with the classic specials we know, but service can be slow and cook time can take longer then most on busy times...

To be honest, we wouldn't have gone out of our way to visit this cafe. Also, we were short on time and the buffet line was too long. But, we were not disappointed.

The food and service was all great! Our server was very knowledgeable and shared her favorites.

We were kinda bummed that they didn't have condense milk to make the Spanish coffee that was on the menu. I mean - couldn't they have borrowed some from the ice cream shop? JK

My whole family enjoyed and most importantly, my coffee was delish. I almost went to Starbucks before getting seated.

This review is for the take away section only.

There are a lot of nice goodies in the pastry case and they have soft serve with tempting waffle cones.  I saw fruity pebbles and just had to get a twist cone.  The waffle cone was EXCELLENT.  Like really good.  I expected it to be a little stale and "normal" but this tasted super fresh and the flavor was good.  I mean good enough that I'm questioning why I'm here typing about how good a waffle cone is but it just is.  YUMMMM!!!!!!!

Why not a higher than A-Ok rating?  I wasn't a fan of the service.  There were two employees and we were the only group looking at the case.  The two employees seemed bothered by us.  After we picked our pastries, we got the soft serve and coffee.  They did not like this.  Pretty sure I saw an eyeroll.

Plus, the were out of nitro.  Ok.  How about a flavored latte?  Out.  Regular coffee?  Nope.  How is this possible?  I mean it was 8pm...  Maybe coffee not popular at a 24 hour cafe?

Came here for Sunday, Easter dinner because we were in the area and decided to try the new renovation which used to be the Grande Café here at the Palace station.  At the front of the restaurant is a hostess that greets you and directs to you and party to your table.
Big renovation on the bar area which immediately caught my eye which its the center attention of the whole entire place.

Layout is open with new furniture and modern atmosphere.
On the menu I was surprised to see that they did some elevation on desserts, more coffee and drink choices, and what stood out to me on the menu was avocado on toast. But overall it kept the diner feel on the menu.

As far as what I ordered I kept it simple with chicken wings, fish tacos, and my boyfriend ordered his usual, liver with mashed potatoes. I would say this would be another Go TO- spot if you did just wanted to go somewhere that is 24/7.
